Ok, I am looking at some help here. Gods will be made from Statues that survived the cataclysm if you will... That or they will be old gods taking the shape of these statues since they are what is worshiped. The thinking behind this is simple. If you are a farmer, you pray that your fields will be healthy this year and you are near or find a statue of a man holding a scythe then you might worship it in hope that your wishes might come true. This is the thinking behind the gods in this campaign. I want to know what your players would find and worship?
On a side note. I will post here any gods that are in the works or have been brought to my attention so we can agree or disagree and find out what gods survive our personal thoughts.
* Alcorn the Strong
The appearance of this god is a knight encased in purified and sacred armor holding a massive war hammer in his left hand as flame is held in the right.
~ His personal view of Magic is that it is useful but dangerous if not controlled, it needs to be watched and only used by others that can control it with out fear of taint (some believe this is the church.)
* Bathor the Wise
This god is wrapped in thick robes that make some wonder if he even wore armor. He is an old man with the feeling of a sage about him. In his left hand he holds an open book, while he rests his weary frame on his right hand that is resting on a long sword.
* No name yet... (Drow based God)
The thoughts I have on this god would be close to the Lilith that the drow have now, but more structured to how I see the drow and other spider gods I have done research on out side the base D&D. With information being so precious, I feel the spider god would be a story teller much like the African Spider god of stories. This god would be worshiped by telling stories of the followers. I see this god as having no true gender, all the better to take any characters point of view in a story. This god would also use stories to teach or warn others in a very vague way. Possibly a trickster, or a liar but a god that is worshiped and feared.
~ The visuals I see of this god is as follows. A giant spider that is composed of thousands of bones connected in such a way that it forms easy to view images. Possibly moving around while speaking to show pictures (in bone form) of what is being said. I see the face as an eight eyed head, with each eye being taken up by a different races head. The reasoning being, the spider could take any race as it's own in a story it says. Possibly each eye would talk as one or maybe single eyes would talk, all in different voices that go in and out as the story is told.
